Happy National Lipstick Day!
In addition to scooping up a free lipstick from MAC – yup, go get them, there’s no catch! – I wanted to share a new treatment that might help you achieve younger looking lips, while you sleep.
I’m sure you apply nightly eye creams, masks and moisturizes to your face, but the lips and the area around them can develop some of the most dramatic signs of aging. Hello, my name is “laugh lines”, and I also have a friend called “feather lines”.
Sun damage, smoking, lots of smiling, even stress, will cause the lip area to develop permanent lines and wrinkles.
Celebrate National Lipstick Day by trying out a cool new product from Dermalogica called the Nightly Lip Treatment. This JUST CAME OUT so I’ve only used it a few times, but I’m excited about the treatment’s possibilities.
Fellow mama and NY-based Celebrity Dermatologist, Dr. Whitney Bowe, is a huge fan. She recommends using this product to target signs of lip aging, while also making sure you stay hydrated, avoid the sun during peak hours and don’t forget SPF on lips, stop smoking, and avoid drinking from straws.
Apply Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment overnight to help firm, hydrate and restore skin on and around the lips, while preventatively smoothing away laugh and feather lines, and improving elasticity. The delicate formula is meant to target the intrinsic (physiological) and extrinsic (external) factors which contribute to lip aging. The goal, at least for me, is to achieve younger looking lips (and an overall youthful look) without an invasive procedure. Me an needles – it’s not a good mix. Key ingredients in the balm include Indian gentian extract, volumizing technology, sesame seed extract, shea butter and pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract and glycerin complex.

Okay, off to the pool (Coola SPF on the lips of course) to enjoy the the sun with the munchkins. Happy Saturday.
PS Don’t forget to use those lips – kiss away.
