Getting a healthy meal on the table whether you’re a hustling mompreneur, in-office worker, or busy-me stay-at-home mom that is chauffeuring, scheduling and managing a house is daunting. When 4pm rolls around, that last thing I want to think about is what to cook.
But, meal prep? That also sounds intimidating, and for “the other moms” – the organized moms, the I-know-what-to-stock moms. Basically, my sister – Hi Michelle – and others like her. What about the rest of us? Dang, what about me?
Enter Dini Klein, personal chef turned momprenuer behind Prep + Rally. Prep + Rally is a customizable meal prep subscription service that gives you unique, nourishing dinners all week long. Dini, like many hustling mama’s, saw a problem in her own life, and tapped into her talents to created a business.
Every Wednesday, subscribers of Prep + Rally receive an email as a reminder to log in on the brand’s site and download the upcoming menu and shopping list. On Sunday subscribers can watch the #PrepRally video which guide you through the entire prep in real time.
I hope Dini’s story inspires you to tap into your own talents, your unique voice, and share it with the world. You could be featured in the next Mompreneur Monday Should Out.
How old are your kid? 3 and 5 :
When did you launch your business? I started working as a private chef (in the food industry) in 2010. I officially launched Prep + Rally in October 2018.
What motivates you to hustle for your business, when mom life seems to be swallowing you whole? I’ve always just had that drive and entrepreneurial spirit about me. I’m always seeking for and excited about the next opportunity and that keep propelling me along. When I see what an impact I’m having on busy mom’s lives and how they’re able to find calm in their week because of my meal prep subscription service it just gets me excited all over again and encourages me to keep going. It’s the testimonials, reposts, and genuine emails I get from subscribers and fans that truly inspires and motivates me to do more!
What’s your biggest challenge right now? Working on a brand new website now which is a major project and restructuring the business a tad to truly take it to phase two and grow even more. We’ve proven the concept and now it’s time to hire a team, and make some exciting/big changes. Super stoked about it but it’s also A LOT!
How do you manage your days, your time? Once a week i conceptualize/test/write/
What do you like to do to unwind and self care? I love getting a facial. I don’t do it often enough but it’s a total luxury for me. I also love taking barre classes and that completely reenergizes me! Spending time with my kids exclusively (meaning phones/work completely put away) is the greatest. It doesn’t happen as often as I’d like but when it does it’s incredibly special.
What or who inspires you to keep pushing your business forward? My husband is my biggest cheerleader. He’s always trying to get me to think big picture, spending time wisely, and to work smart and not hard. He’s helping me make some of these major changes we’re going through now and I couldn’t do it without him!
What has been your biggest “aha” moment this year? Realizing that growing your email list (organizing it and utilizing it properly) is far important than any social media number will ever be. Find your customer and then speak to them. That’s how sales happen! It’s so easy to get bogged down about the number of likes or your follower count not growing as rapidly as you’d like. But, at the end of the day, if you’re growing your tribe and selling to them that’s what matters! It’s changed my whole relationship with instagram.
What does it mean to you to Hustle Like a Mom? Do all the things like a bad ass!
What push finally brought you to invest into Prep+Rally? We moved out of New York which forced me to leave my privet chef clients. After that, I fully developed this next phase of my career and new business venture. I used to cook staples for my clients that they can then mix and match throughout the week for simple and fast dinners. Now, I get to share weekly menus, grocery lists, and all of my experience on being smart and savvy in the kitchen with my subscribers and show them how to save major time, money, and sanity all week long with my unique meal prep system! This has been my full time job since we launched in October, and I haven’t looked back since.
