It’s sort of perfect that my first, official post about Monday Meaningful Me Moments and the kick off of the #MeaningfulMeMoments Movement is going live on Tuesday morning, not Monday!
Life. It’s REAL.
Monday – David threw up (for the third time in a week), Ilana decided eating wasn’t important, my neck and left shoulder gave out, finding a caterer for Ilana’s 2nd birthday (aka the Matzo Ball / B-day Bonanza / second Passover seder of 5775) isn’t as easy as in a not-so-Jewish part of New York, my husband will be running very late from work, my mother reminded me several times that I wasn’t eating enough, and my internet decided since I can’t work why should it work!
Which brings me to today, Tuesday morning, March 31st, 2015 at 9:18am.
Good morning! It’s a new day people. And, in case you are wondering, I DID find time for Meaningful Me Moments, yesterday. I just got a bit too tipsy to share it.
The kids were sleeping.
The husband was still working.
This happened at 10PM.
Mom’s Midnight Cocktail
70% Cipriani Food Peach Bellini Mix
30% Balinoff Vodka (or your preferred vodka)
Poured into a Jasper Conrad for Waterford flute, this peachy drink was the ideal way to cap off a hectic day. It was just me, the cocktail and nothing else. I didn’t turn on the TV. I didn’t read a book. I didn’t call anyone on the phone to discuss the happenings of the day.
Peachy. Pretty. Perfection.
How will I create Meaningful Me Moments, today? The plan is to park myself in a hotel lobby or Starbucks, in between fashion previews and meetings, for an hour of reading. Currently, I’m devouring Helena Rubinstein: The Woman Who Invented Beauty by Michele Fitoussi. If you’re looking to be uplifted by a trailblazing, no-nonsense woman, this is a must-read.
Now, the most important question of the day:
How will YOU create Meaningful Me Moments for yourself, today? Go. Do. See. Read. Jump. Dance. Live! Laugh! Love! Oh, and get a manicure, while you’re at it.
Don’t be ashamed to ask for help from family or friends, if you are a stay-at-home mom. We all deserve a break. If that’s not an option, join me for some midnight tea, once the kids fall asleep … ya, I don’t do Moms Midnight Cocktail every night. That’s kind of an issue. But, tea or a yummy cappuccino …. who’s in?
#MeaningfulMeMoments on Instagram. Let’s do this, ladies.
