Do you you and the hubs vacation solo? How about a mini weekend getaway?
Recently, Steve and I spent the night at The J House Greenwich, a boutique hotel located in Greenwich, Connecticut. I visited the hotel, once, for a power women of Connecticut/Westchester lunch hosted by my friend Penny Goffman founder of JolieGotique. I enjoyed the delicious meal, and fell in love with the cool art in lobby and lounge areas.
When I found out The J House Greenwich had an luxurious, on-site spa, I knew this would be a great spot for a recharge. While Steve and I aim for two trips a year, without the kids, I find that mini getaways are an amazing boost for our marriage mojo.
At The J House Greenwich we were blown away with amazing Italian food – not an easy accomplishment, given that I was raised in Brooklyn and lived in Staten Island, so I know about good, Italian food. Tony’s at The J House nailed every dish we tried. I went to town on the Gnocchi, while the hubs enjoyed Pappardelle Bolognese.
If you’re not able to get away from the weekend, or even the night, try to squeeze in a couples Sunday Brunch at Tony’s. It’s a very colorful, romantic setting, and a great change to connect with your partner.
After waking up and enjoying a simple breakfast, we went off to The J House Spa for two-and-a-half hours of pampering. I was able to experience a massage and facial, and was delighted with the results. The spa is small, so don’t expect a large lounge area, but do expect amazing services and friendly therapists.
Whether it’s a brunch date, couple’s spa night, or a local weekend getaway, make time for the person that you chose to love forever and for always. If you’re close to Westchester or Connecticut, check out The J House Greenwich for your next staycation.
