In my 30’s I’ve come much closer to understanding who I am, and who I am not – I am good with people, I am not good with organization. I am family first, I am not business first.
What I like, and what I don’t like — cotton candy is king, let’s pass on chocolate. I like peonies over roses.
What my personal style is, and what it will never be — classic, glamorous and easy, because trendy is too much hassle and not my cup of tea. So, you’ll never catch me in a crop top, bellybutton exposed. Gaucho pants and culottes need not apply to be in my closet.
This brings me to my latest fashion obsession, Ramy Brook’s Robi Sleeveless Top. It’s a Fashion Fix that I turn to time-and-time again, when I need to easily get out the door feeling sharp, classy, and fuss-free.
PS Get inspired by the woman behind the brand – momprenuer Ramy Sharp. She sat down with me for a Hustle Like a Mom chat to share how she has grown her business and her family with grace and love.
What’s so special about this blouse and why should you buy it?
First it drapes beautifully, but, also has a cinched waist band that contains the fabric. You can move the band to your hips or slightly higher, if you want to just show the billowing fabric. With all that lush silk chartreuse, you can easily wear this while pregnant, which I demonstrated in this week’s PIX11 Morning News segment, Grab & Go Wardrobe.
Second, a v-neckline elongates your neck and draws the eye to your face. I like that I can easily minimize the v with a pin or double-sided tape, during the day, and then do a bit more show-and-tell at night. Um, I don’t have as much to show-and-tell these days, but I’m thrilled to bits if you do!
Lastly, I’m all in for sleeveless blouses. Aside from the fact that I don’t want to think about sweat marks (rggg, I’m just not one of the lucky ones that can wear long sleeve silk. Know what I mean?), sleeveless also gives me the option to layer. Love your layers, ladies.
Below are some of my favorite ways to wear Ramy Brook’s Robi Sleeveless Top. I hope it inspires you to make the most of your closet, love layers and shop smarter. It’s not about how many items are packed into your closet, but the frequency with which you can wear the right items. Let your wardrobe work for you! And, then, work it … work it … work it 😉
