Butler Boot for kids review Pamela Pekerman

The Butler Boot: 3-in-1 Kids Boots for All Seasons

Hey Mamas,

It’s Friday, and while for many of us, the weekends aren’t too much of a departure from our typical Monday to Friday mama hustle, I still always feel a bit gitty when Friday afternoon rolls around.

Even the crazy rain isn’t going to stop me and my munchkins from splashing about in style, especially, now that their new Butler Boots arrived.

Designed to make mom’s life easier – THANK YOU we appreciate all the extra help! – the innovative rain boots actually do more than just protect your kiddos feet from the rain.

Dubbed the “whatever the weather” shoe, the Butler boot has a 3-in-1 design allowing your kids to wear them in multiple situations from snow, to rain, to sunny days.

The outer boot is made from one sleek mold without any stitching or glue, which means to leaky seams. Waterproof winner for when you’re pretending you’re Peppa Pig, jumping in moody puddles.

That shell is also super lightweight, and ideal for early spring time or fall.

There’s also an inner, breathable slipper booties that gives extra warmth during winter and snow season. But, the kids will not sweat thanks to moisture wick material.

That same slipper can be worn on it’s own, which is great for kids that are in daycare and can take off their outer shell. Or, if you’re heading over for a play date, no need to send slippers. (Yes, we are a no-walking-without-slippers family! #HouseRules )

Summing up time-saving, money-saving awesomeness of the Butler Boot

  • A Shoe for all 4 seasons (does anyone else hear the Grease song in their head? …. A Girl for All Season)
  • Outer boot is waterproof
  • The easy on, easy off design means that toddlers can easily put the boot on by themselves (more free time for mom… yes, drink your collagen latte pretty lady)
  • Slipper liner can be worn as cozy slipper
  • Outer boot and inner slipper have slip resistant sole
  • Outer boot can slip over some slim sneakers, making it easy for older kids to keep sneakers/shoes on in school, and slip on outer boot when heading back home.
  • Super lightweight (not always the case with rain boots)
  • Non-toxic and environmentally-friendly material

Sizing: size up, especially if you want to slip in your own sneakers into the outer boot.

3 New Kids Shopping Websites and Apps You’ll Love

By now, Back-to-School is in full swing. From Manhattan to Miami and Houston (waha Texas mamas, it was great seeing ya’ll last week!!) to Hoboken, moms everywhere are breathing a little easier now that summer’s casual vibes have been replaced with fall’s structured schedule.

For me, last week was the first time that both my munchkins were in full-time day care all week long. It was also the kick-off of my first media tour (translation: lots of TV segments, in many cities, in a short period of time) since the birth of my daughter back in 2013.

During my travels, I had the pleasure of chatting with many moms, and one thing we all agreed upon is that time is not on our side.

“I just need one more day,” said one mom on my flight from Houston to Dallas.

“It’s a lot. All of it. Work. Kids. Home. I just want to catch my breath,” said another young mom at LaGuardia Airport, as we bonded over our love of Korean skin-care brands.

These amazing women reassured me that my desire to focus on time saving tips and products for busy moms, is essential!!

With both my munchkins in day care, I’m going to make a stronger push to blog more often, share more products (because I do come across so many amazing tools that have made my life easier, and can help you, as well) and also share more about my journey in the crazy land of motherhood.

Now, looping back to back to school mode, if you haven’t found the time to scoop up some new fashion and accessories for your kids, fear not! I’ve found three cool and innovative kids shopping websites and apps that will make yur Back to School shopping a breeze.

KidsShoes.com

Am I the only mom that can’t figure out what shoe size to buy for her kids? I get so excited when I find a shoe that fits, I tend to keep my daughter or son in them for as long as possible. (Which explains why we had no rain boots today! What, sandals were totally appropriate in terenchal downpour.)

So, if you’re like me, and shoe-shopping for your kids is an exercise in click, receive, print return label, and repeat, then you will love KidsShoes.com. KidsShoes.com creative director, Sarah Caplan, teamed up with footwear experts to create a patent-pending universal measuring system called KidsSizing, which allows parents to size their child’s foot online via an app, and purchase shoes that fit correctly every time.

If you’re not a mama that likes to app, there is an option to print out their simple size chart, as well.

RocketsofAwesome.com

The name alone is killer, right? Well, RocketsofAwesome.com will rock your kid’s wardrobe world by saving you time finding on-trend and affordable fashion that your toddler or tween will want to wear.

Each season, they handpick a selection of high-quality, stylish clothing and ship it to your doorstep in a color-me-if-you-like box. That’s a fun bonus, my 3-year-old and 2-year-old really enjoyed, while I enjoyed a cup of Café Bastelo instant coffee.

Another bonus: value. All items are under $40 and can easily mix and match with each other.

Below, Ilana wears sunglasses, black leggings with hearts and a pink top that are awesome, of course.

KidBox.com

How can shopping become a tool for social good and education? Simple. KidBox.com not only has stylists curate seasonal essentials from top brands lie Reebox, Kensie, Seventh Generation and PUMA, at below retail prices, they will also donate a box of clothing to a child in need if you keep your entire box.

A whole box costs $98, and there are four per year. Each box contains 5-7 items, including a fun lifestyle goody like ABC stickers or a book, depending on your child’s age.

When we got our box, I let my daughter play with the clothing and try them on, but I also told her that we would be helping give clothing to another little girl or buy that really needs it. Even at 3, I want her to know that we always have opportunities to give of ourselves, be it via time, money or making purchases with heart.
